Good agreements make good friends, so please respect these house rules during the festival:

  • We expect you to arrive 20 to 30 minutes before the start of the performance at the correct location so we can start on time. Latecomers will not be admitted, and tickets for latecomers will not be refunded.
  • Turn off your phone during the performance. Video, photo, or audio recordings during the performance are not allowed unless you have received written permission from the organization.
  • Respect the possible minimum age for performances, always indicated. Bringing children that are too young to performances can be disruptive to the audience and the artists.
  • Dogs are welcome on the festival grounds outside, but they must be on a leash. Dogs are not allowed in the circus tents or during performances, except for service dogs and guide dogs.
  • Smoking is allowed in the outdoor areas on the festival grounds. There is an absolute smoking ban in the circus tents, the bar tent, or during performances.
  • Bringing your own alcoholic beverages is not allowed on the festival grounds. However, you may bring your own bottle of water.
  • If you buy drinks at our bar at Asiadok, we ask you to consume them on the festival grounds. It is not allowed to leave the festival grounds with drinks. Also, you may not bring drinks inside during performances.
  • MAD Festival only serves alcohol to +16-year-olds and strong liquor to +18-year-olds. We may ask for your ID if there is any doubt.
  • We serve our drinks in reusable cups. Please return them to the bar or the designated collection point. This is respectful to the environment and our cleaning crew.
  • Lost or found something? Check with our information desk to see if anything has been found or hand in any found items there. MAD Festival is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to property.
  • Our house photographers and videographers capture images of MAD Festival on the festival grounds. If you prefer not to be recognizable in these images, please approach the photographer/videographer or one of our staff members.
  • Distributing flyers or printed material on the festival grounds is not allowed.
  • Drugs, weapons, and objects that jeopardize the safety of other visitors are not allowed on the festival grounds.
  • MAD Festival aims to be an inclusive place. There is a zero-tolerance policy for all forms of discrimination or hate. If you feel unsafe or uncomfortable or witness something happening, please do not hesitate to speak to one of our staff members.
